Have your say on the proposed data retention laws

The Australian Government?s proposed data retention bill has created considerable disquiet within our community.  It requires all carriers and ISPs to retain records of the detailed metadata of all telecommunications calls, messages, emails and internet connections passed through their networks, retaining these for a period of at least two years during which they will be accessible by various national security agencies under administrative but not judicial control.

TelSoc is conducting a survey of its members and followers to gauge the level of support or otherwise for this bill and to determine what if any action TelSoc should take in response.
