Dr Kevin Barrell is a technology strategist with the Alcatel-Lucent CTO Office for Oceania. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland (BE Elec, Hons), and the Australian National University (PhD) where his research centred on light propagation in optical fibre. Over a 35 year career in telecommunications, Kevin has held senior technical pre-sales, product management, solution development and program delivery positions for leading technology providers. Spanning the Asia region, these have included Telstra Research Labs, Honeywell-Bull, Nortel Networks and currently Alcatel-Lucent. Kevin?s current focus is on strategies for responding to technology disruption of telecommunications service operations and market effectiveness.
