James Irvine

University of Strathclyde

Dr. James Irvine is a Reader at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, where he leads the Mobile Communications Group. Currently working on security for IoT applications, his recent projects have included secure peer to peer storage on mobile networks, and detecting social networks through mobile phones. A past President of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, he was a Vice Chair of WG1 of the Wireless World Research Forum for 5 years, and is currently on the Steering Committee of the IEEE 5G Initiative. He is a co-author of two text books, 7 patents, and over 150 research papers.
