Andrew Bettison

Serval Project

Andrew Bettison's quixotic career has led him to hand craft real-time sampling and sequencing software for computer musical instruments, fair-share the Unix kernels of American and Japanese supercomputers, synchronise digital audio with motion pictures, ride a Swedish dot-com through the Spanish and Portuguese economies, fuse tactical sonar, trace infra-red rays over tropical seas, deliver mobile phones to Spain's socially-networked teenagers, and mesh-network smart-phones during disasters.

He sings in a leading Australian chamber choir, studies piano, is fluent in Spanish, cultivates olives in Extremadura and grain in Kapunda, and is also raising a family.
