The ninth Annual General Meeting of the Telecommunications Association Inc. (TelSoc) will be held as follows:

Business:

To confirm the Minutes of the eighth Annual General Meeting held on 28 October 2021.
To receive and consider the Annual Report of the Board, presented by the President, for the year ended 30 June 2022.
To receive and consider the Financial Statements of the Association and the Treasurer’s Report for the year ended 30 June 2022.
To receive a report on the Journal, by the Managing Editor.
To appoint a Returning Officer for the election of Officers.
To elect Officers and other members of the Board to hold office until the next Annual General Meeting of the Association.
To consider any General Business if the majority of members at the meeting agree to consider that General Business.

Proxies:

A member may appoint another member as a proxy for the meeting. A proxy form is available on the TelSoc website. A form appointing a proxy that is sent by post or electronically to the Association is of no effect unless received by the Association by close of business (6pm) the day before the AGM. However, a form appointing a proxy may be handed to the Chairperson of the meeting before the commencement of the meeting. This may be by “technological means”.

At TelSoc’s AGM to be held on 22 November 2022, all Board positions are up for election. Please consider nominating for one of these positions on the Board:

President

Vice-President

Secretary

Treasurer

Ordinary Board Member (currently 4 members but can be more)

You can nominate yourself. Use the nomination form on the TelSoc website [https://telsoc.org/voting/board-member-nomination-form-2022].

By serving on the TelSoc Board, you can guide the Association in achieving its aims.

VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS WELCOME

If you don’t want to serve on the Board, there are many opportunities available to assist with TelSoc activities and events. Get in touch with the Secretary or any Board member if you would like to help with:

 Arranging speakers for our regular lunchtime presentations;

 Supporting online or in-person presentations;

 Supporting the editorial team in publishing the Journal of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy;

 Supporting our two major Orations each year and other special events;

 Posting on and managing our social media accounts.

As a volunteer you can spend as much time or as little as you can spare. Regular, short amounts of support can make a big difference to the Association’s activities. All members welcome.
